Overview
Query is an open intelligence search dashboard and Google dork generator designed to make multi-engine queries and OSINT exploration effortless.
It combines live query compilation across 15+ specialized search engines (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, GitHub, Shodan, Censys, Wayback Machine, etc.) with automated username reconnaissance across 40+ social platforms.
The dork builder validates operator combinations as they're composed — some search engines silently ignore operators they don't support, or interpret quoting differently, so the builder targets each generated query to the operators the selected engine actually honors instead of producing a query that looks right but returns nothing.
The challenge
Problem: Every search engine and OSINT platform has its own query syntax, rate limits, and operator support — a dork query built for Google's `intext:`/`filetype:` syntax doesn't translate directly to Shodan or Censys, which use entirely different operator sets for what's conceptually the same filter.
Approach: Built an internal query-intent representation (what the user actually wants to filter on) separate from the per-engine query string, with an adapter per search engine that translates that intent into the target engine's actual supported syntax — instead of one generic query template stretched across incompatible engines.
Result: A single dork built in the visual builder compiles correctly across all 15+ supported engines without the user needing to know each engine's specific operator quirks, and adding a new search engine is a matter of writing one new adapter, not touching the query builder itself.
